Blog 02: The Recipe Of Success

Your alarm goes off, you pick your phone up to turn it off. It’s 4’oclock in the morning, you’re tired and all you want to do is stay under your warm cover, but you raise yourself from bed. You quietly walk to the bathroom, it’s cold and chilly but you turn the tap on and wash your hands, your mouth, your face, your arms and your feet. Feeling a little bit more awake and refreshed you open your prayer mat, raise your hands and stand in prayer.

Allah (subhanna wa ta’ala) comes down to nearest Heaven in the last third of the night, when you’re standing in prayer and says ‘Is there anyone to invoke Me, so that I may respond to his invocation? Is there anyone to ask Me, so that I may grant him his request? Is there anyone seeking My forgiveness, so that I may forgive him?’ (Bukhari).

And you pour your heart out, you tell Allah about all your dreams and aspirations. You tell Allah about your business ideas and your goals. You complain to Allah about your stress and worries. You ask Allah to forgive you and keep you away from that sin that you so desperately want to let go off. You empty your heart out and leave it all to Allah.

Tahajjud. Subhana’Allah. The secret weapon. The powerful gift. The du’a made at the time of tahajjud is like an arrow which does not miss its target.” (Imam Ash-Shafi’i). Knowing all of this why would we miss such an opportunity. The main ingredient to success, an answer to all your prayers and the best therapy you will find.

The world is asleep, but you, you’re different, you’re awake, in the quiet and calmness of the night. It’s just you and Allah in an intimate conversation. Every night the opportunity opens for you to be so close to Allah and for you to be from the few chosen ones to have this special meeting with your Creator.

This is the power of Tahajjud.
